The head of the EPA Scott Pruitt stated the following when asked about human pollution and specifically carbon dioxide’s contribution to climate change.
“No, I think that measuring with precision human activity on the climate is something very challenging to do and there’s tremendous disagreement about the degree of impact,” Pruitt said. “So no, I would not agree that it’s a primary contributor to the global warming that we see. But we don’t know that yet.”
We need continuing analysis he said about CO2’s effect on the environment, seriously?
From the NASA.gov website- there is a scientific consensus that Earth’s climate is warming due to human activities. 97% of scientist agree
So what is in it for him to keep denying what is almost a proven fact?
Well, Pruit is connected with major political donations through the oil, gas, electric industries, specifically the Koch brothers who want to roll back all environmental regulations. Article
So far in 40 days the team of Pruit and Trump have
Cut major funding to the EPA and 25% of its staff
Rolling back fuel economy standards
Rolling back regulations on streams, rivers, and green house gasses
Rolling back regulations that said mines couldn’t put their waste directly into streams
Pushing though the Keystone XL pipeline and the Dakota Access Pipeline
To me, this is just another short sided push for financial gains for rich people now over the future generations ability to live in a healthy country and plant.
